Phils win, two back in East, Wild Card

PHILADELPHIA -- Cole Hamels' solid outing was backed by three hits from Jimmy Rollins as the Phillies beat the Brewers, 7-3, at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Phils' win pulled them to within two games of Milwaukee in the National League Wild Card race. The Mets lost to the Braves, so the Phils are two games back in the NL East.

The Phils jumped all over Brewers starter Manny Parra in the first inning, scoring three runs on a double by Chase Utley and singles by Jayson Werth and Shane Victorino.

The offense never looked back, with Rollins punctuating the victory with a two-run home run in the sixth. The shortstop went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, falling a triple short of the cycle.

Hamels turned in another quality start, holding the Brewers to two runs in 6 1/3 innings.
